2026 Scholarship Application

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is an international public service sorority that is comprised of over 250,000 predominately African-American women. Encouraging young men and women to achieve excellence through higher education is a primary focus of our organization. We support this focus by awarding scholarships to young people who exemplify academic excellence, strong leadership, and community involvement. Based on availability of funds, awards range from $300 to $1150.

Criteria:

  • Completed application must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on Friday, April 10, 2026.
  • Must attend one of the following public schools in the Kingstree-Lake City Alumnae Chapter
    service area (Hemingway High School, Kingstree High School, Lake City High
    School, J.Paul Truluck Creative Arts and Science Magnet School)
  • Must be a high school senior graduating in 2026
  • Must plan to enroll as a full-time student at an accredited two- or four-year college or
    university
  • Must not be the son/daughter of a member of Kingstree-Lake City Alumnae Chapter
  • Must complete the application in its entirety and have required documentation

____ 4. Photograph (No Selfies will be accepted)
____ 5. Official transcript (Must be stamped and signed by School Counselor)
____ 6. Minimum 2.75 grade point average
____ 7. Copy of ACT or SAT scores
____ 8. Application Disclaimer signed
____ 9. Be available to participate* in an interview 

After the applications are screened, the top three from each school will be notified and required to participate in an interview.

*Interviews will be held via Zoom. Applicants should inform the committee upon notification of an interview if they don’t have required technology to attend a Zoom meeting.
